After Dimitri

After this depressing and helpless feeling of pain, I decided to leave Russia where, for generations, my forefathers had served the country and the House of Romanov. I wished to go to America; but how? The new [Soviet] government considered me an enemy of the nation and my social class was to be destroyed. Adieu Motherland.
