NEWS: 3rd Worldwide Photowalk

Sorry all, no Friday Flickr Find today. I have been over my head with other stuff going on in my life right now — more on that some other time — and haven’t taken the time to search for a new featured photographer. I promise it will be back next week.

This year again and for the 3rd time, Scott Kelby is organizing his Worldwide Photowalk. And for the second time, I have the honor and pleasure to host Geneva’s venue.

I am pretty sure most of you know what a Photowalk is but if you are not familiar with Scott Kelby you might not know what a Worldwide Photowalk is. Imagine thousands of people wandering the street of 300+ cities in the world on the same day. It is only the biggest photographic event. Ever.

Basically, it is an event where photographers get together, walk around for about two hours shooting like crazy and then go for lunch, dinner or beer. Whatever works. At the end of the day all participants upload their favorite picture to the Worldwide Photowalk website and enter the competition for a chance at the absolutely fantabulous Grand Prize (it’s pretty empty now but wait a few days and you will see what I mean).

Now you might be asking: when is this fabulous event?

It is July 24th 2010 @06:00 p.m. Mark your calendars!
/! Time has changed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (18:00) /!

Now if you want to sign up, do hurry up. There are only 50 spots available in total and I would hate to see you miss this fun photographic gathering.

I still have to determine the program but I promise I will try to come up with something fun and we will all go for lunch after the walk.

Follow these instructions to sign up:

  1. Go to the Worldwide Photowalk Geneva page
  2. Click on Join This Photo Walk
  3. Fill up the quick questionnaire (I admit it is a bit of a pain)
  4. Voilà! You are signed up and I will be seing you on July 24th

Cheers,
Josh
